Menopause awareness month & heart health
What is Menopause Awareness Day?
Since 2009, October’s been designated as menopause awareness month by the International Menopause Society and World Health Organisation. Every 18th October as World Menopause Awareness Day. Their intention is to raise awareness of menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing. Each campaign has a different theme and this year’s is cardiovascular health.
This year’s theme is cardiovascular health. Each year more women die from heart disease than cancer.
We think this, as well as being shocking, is something that is not shared widely enough or understood. This is one of many reasons why we founded Mentrix. Our mission is to spread awareness and educate people about menopause. To equip women with information and tools to enable them to take the right steps for them to feel better. We do the same for men and your work colleagues. We provide support to anyone affected to make positive changes to enable them to live and feel better through menopause.
So how can we improve our heart health?
There are several ways in which we can improve our heart and overall health, for example through lifestyle, sleep, stress management and nutrition. We’ll be discussing them in our special, one-off free webinar to mark Menopause Awareness Month so if you haven’t already registered do visit our Events page, register to join us and understand more and make a start.
